About This Series

Lesson 1: Abortion A Woman's Right? ( 30 Minutes)

An examination of what may be the most controversial and crucial moral issue of our day. Tyler Young conducts a candid discussion of abortion from cultural, scientific and biblical perspectives. Using images of life in the womb and focusing on the biblical understanding of human life, Tyler answers the question: Is abortion a woman's right, or is it murder?

Lesson 2: The Madness of Abortion (33 Minutes)

Cutting through the rhetoric and propaganda, Tyler Young exposes the maddening inconsistency of abortion legislation in the United States. This program explores the critical question of what gives value to human life, and offers practical suggestions of what we can do to stem the tide of legalized abortion on demand and make a difference in this life and death struggle.

What Others Are Saying

Ancient civilizations cast unwanted children to the wild and allowed them to die from exposure. Contemporary civilizations demonstrate a higher level of sophistication, but certainly no more civility. Death from "natural causes" through exposure is passé. We simply kill them outright within the womb of their mother. No yellow "Police Line - Do Not Cross" tape cordons off the scene. No law breached. No crime committed. No harm done. It's perfectly legal to allow life to be "antiseptically" ended by a physician who jettisoned Hippocrates' oath long ago. Forty-five million innocent children cut, salted and sucked to death. And that's just our American "civilization." Lexicographers amuse us by defining the term as "the stage of human social development and organization that is considered most advanced."

I'm thankful that Tyler Young and the staff of World Video Bible School have created a useful tool to expose this sin of shedding "innocent blood." The Lord's church needs to rise up and take action against this horror, a perpetual holocaust against the unborn. As administrator of TheBible.net I am pleased to make this tool available to the church and to the world.

Online Video Quality

Reducing videos in data size for online viewing and downloading reduces video quality. In addition, the swift scene changes and overlapping transitions that make videos visually stimulating and engaging makes rendering them to online video difficult. Fast moving scenes and transitions tend to blur when rendered online.

We have done our best to reach an effective compromise. "Abortion: A Woman's Right?" videos are available in two frame sizes, including a 640 x 480 frame size with higher data rates than the class videos online at TheBible.net/video. The quality, though acceptable for online viewing, is nothing compared to the original DVD. For better viewing, consider the following section.

How To Use These Videos

1. Save the videos to your hard drive for repeat viewing. This saves bandwidth and allows others to do the same.

2. Tell others about the videos and direct them to http://www.TheBible.net/abortion

3. If your friends don't have broadband make a copy of your downloaded video segments on CD or DVD and let them copy it to their hard drive.

4. To increase the sharpness of the video, save the video to your hard drive, open it for playback with QuickTime Player and resize the video to a slightly smaller frame size. The larger 640 x 480 frame is large enough to allow reduction in size.

5. For optimum viewing contact WVBS to obtain the series in DVD format for yourself.

6. For additional questions, contact TheBible.net administrator.

7. More detailed viewing instructions can be found here.

8. Practical Ideas:
  • Labels - add a label to the DVD identifying your congregation. We use 30-up peel & stick labels and simply run them through a laser printer.
  • Follow Up - Though there is nothing wrong with just giving the DVDs away, there is a more effective way to use them. Be actively involved by telling a friend, neighbor, co-worker or relative about the DVD and inviting them to view the lessons with you. The more personal involvement the better. If your friend prefers to watch the DVD without you, then let your friend know that you are willing to answer questions and help in any way you can. By whatever means (phone, personal visit, email, letter, etc.), keep in touch.
  • Advertise - Use word of mouth, classified ads, display ads, church bulletins, etc. to let your friends know that these DVDs are available for free. Advertise the online viewing location - http://www.TheBible.net/abortion - so that someone who prefers to do so can watch the lessons online.
  • Other suggestions - let us know.
