Life Of A Preacher's Wife

Sandy Ditoro

How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace,
who bring glad tidings of good things. (Romans 10:15)

How blessed is the woman who (figuratively speaking) has the privilege of washing those beautiful feet each day.

She is the woman who comforts the preacher, prepares his favorite meals and listens to his heartaches. She is his sounding board and the only person in the world that he can truly confide in. She is the one who makes him laugh and helps him at times to see a lighter side of life.

She is the most blessed of all the members, because when her preacher is fired for preaching the truth, she gets to move with him. She doesn't lose the minister who loves her soul enough to risk everything to teach her truth.

Through the good times and the bad times she is there to encourage him and to help him. She is there to minister to all of his needs as he ministers to the needs of so many. She watches as he receives so little appreciation for all that he does and she does all that she can to let him know how grateful she is just to be a part of his world.

She looks forward to the day when he will take his place along the side of Peter, Philip and Steven to hear the Father say, "Well, done thou good and faithful servant. Enter in to the joy of your Lord." She knows she will be reminded once more how blessed she was to be the one who walked by his side each day he faithfully preached God's Word and served our Lord while on earth.

(This article is dedicated to the man I love.)
