Leading Wise Men to Christ
by Johnny Ramsey
Certainly the most noble venture in life is saving lost humanity for Christ. To lead a person out of darkness and into the marvelous light of Jesus' love is the most compelling experience this earth affords. It is not surprising then, to read these emphatic words in Proverbs 11:30, "He that winneth souls is wise." Indeed, our Redeemer said that the value of one soul surpassed the worth of all earthly treasures (Mark 8:36). The Bible is replete with verses that demand an urgent view of this matter of bringing the unsaved to the Lord.

The rewarding experience of sharing with others the unsearchable riches of Christ can never be duplicated nor surpassed. Our heavenly Father is wonderful to allow us to be His co-workers in life's greatest work (II Corinthians 6:1). As Christians view a map of the world, they should incessantly cry aloud: "All this for Jesus--that is our dream." Yes, a world won for the Savior; sinners redeemed, snatched as a brand out of the burning fire, will be our desire (Jude 23).

The first century church was so ardent in its evangelistic fervor that the good news of heaven's love was sounded forth everywhere (Romans 10:18; Colossians 1:23). The success story of New Testament Christianity never loses its appeal to the loyal child of God. But, unless members of the Lord's family today recapture the zeal of the early saints, we shall not see the tremendous results of the apostolic era. He who lives to himself and dies to himself--to himself and none beside--lives as though Christ never lived, as though he never died!
