We rejoice in the success of the 2004 West Virginia
Christian Lectures that were conducted last month by the Pumpkin
Center Church of Christ in Fairview, WV. Please read brother Nick
Deiger's report on page 5. The lectures, the congregation, and
the audiences were wonderful! The Lord will, the 2005 lectures
will be hosted by the church in Pennsboro, WV.
By the time you read this issue, the 2004 election
will have been completed. I do not know who our next president
will be. However, I do know that Jesus said, in Mark 12:17, "Render
to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things
that are God's." The Caesars were notoriously wicked rulers.
Yet, during the first century, the church experienced the greatest
growth of her history! Under the evil dynasty of the Caesars,
Christian homes and congregations of the Lord's church were strong
and thriving. The true hope of America does not lie in who rules
in Washington. The true hope of America and the world lies in
the rule of Jesus Christ in our hearts and lives.
