Bob Stealey, the editor of our local paper, The Exponent Telegram, wrote in the December 10, 2004, edition, that a wire story of the previous week reported that the British philosophy professor, Dr. Antony Flew, has announced that, after more than 50 years of being an atheist, he now believes in God! This is very significant to us because, in September 1976, in Denton, Texas, our brother, Dr. Thomas Warren, soundly defeated Dr. Flew in a debate concerning the existence of God. We believe brother Warren's arguments had a telling effect upon Dr. Flew.

Brother Roy Deaver wrote an article about the debate in the July 1977, issue of The Spiritual Sword (Vol. 8, No. 4, pp15-21). In it he wrote, "Wonderful fruits even in generations to come will be produced by these labors." He also said, of Dr. Flew, "We can continue to hope and pray that his honesty and concern about truth and evidence will yet bring him to the truth of God." Brethren, do we yet wonder about the power of truth? Isaiah 55:11; John 8:31-32; Romans 1:16-20; 10:17. By his works, brother Warren, being dead, yet speaks! Hebrews 11:4.
