The mighty hand of God was widely felt last week
when He sent His hurricane across Florida, then northward along
the Atlantic coast, and, overnight, dumped tons of snow on the
hills of West Virginia and surrounding states! Houses were destroyed;
electrical power was cut off; roads, airports, schools and businesses
were closed.
Nehemiah recognized the power of God, calling
Him "the great, the mighty, and the terrible God." 1:5;
4:14; 9:32. Our God is love (1 John 4:8), but He is also "a
consuming fire." Hebrews 12:29. Paul recognized God's power
when he wrote, "Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord,
we persuade men ..." 2 Corinthians 5:11.
Dear friends, we, too, seek to recognize God's
almighty power through our work with WVC. We persuade you
to humble yourself under the mighty hand of God. Submit yourselves
to Him. Fear God and keep His commandments. This is your all your
whole reason for living. Ecclesiastes 12:13.
