NEWBURG, WV 26410 Please add the names below to your "In Remembrance" column. (See column) Shirley was a walking billboard for Christianity, spreading sunshine wherever she went. Even in her last months, while dying from cancer, she was mindful of giving gifts and cards to those that were ill. She and her husband, Ben, raised three boys who continue steadfast in the faith. Emily was an inspiration to all of us, always with a smile and laugh. She did not wear glasses until she was 90 years old. Emily was even able to get to services a couple of months before her death, until she rapidly declined. Both of these ladies left this world and their surroundings a much better place. We will miss them both dearly. My wife Karen, my boys, Tom and Josh, and I attend the Howesville church of Christ near Kingwood. Matthew Bright, Rt. 1 Box 109A.

GALLIPOLIS, OH 45631 The meeting at Wilson Ridge, Grafton, WV was held in May with one baptized and one restored. The associations were most enjoyable. Bobby Jennings, the local preacher, is doing an outstanding work especially with the young people. The first week of June I preached in a meeting at the Lane congregation, Meadow Bridge, WV. Area congregations cooperated in an excellent way. I'm scheduled to preach at Laurel Hill, Radford, VA, Sunday, August 27th. This will be their Annual Homecoming. Then I shall preach in a meeting at Spencer, WV Sept. 17 22. The work with West Union, WV continues to go forward with slightly improved attendance and two restorations. Lewis Mikell, P.O. Box 302.

MARTINSBURG, WV 25401 The church in Martinsburg is doing well ... The church sent me on a "mission" meeting to LaGrange, OH in June. Brother Don Cooper serves the small group as their preacher. He is such a good man and is doing a good work. It was a joy to be with them in this effort ... The months of May and June saw six responses to the invitation. Two of these were from a local nursing home. Two elderly ladies from there obeyed the Lord in baptism. We have been conducting a monthly service at the home for several years. Two of our ladies, Linda Norris and Jennie Garland, had begun a study with some of the women and this resulted in this response ... We took a big step forward this past week with the installation of 3 more deacons. John Everson will serve in the area of worship. Roger Luttrell will be responsible for building and grounds. Greg Shockey will be working in the area of technology ... We appreciate the paper so very much. We are glad to increase the number we are getting ... -Warren F. Kenney, 90 Waverly Court.
