Religious division is evidence against all who
reject the facts and truths of the Bible. What is written is written
for our learning. The book of Acts, if believed and obeyed, would
turn all believers away from all religious error.
Why are these facts written? "For I am not
ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto
salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also
to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed
from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by
faith. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all
ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in
unrighteousness; ..."
A belief of what is written in the book of Acts
would turn all people away from every faith of men. Faiths of
men cannot save a soul. 1 Corinthians 2:1-5. "For after that
in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased
God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe."
1 Corinthians 1:21.
The religious actions of many are proof that they
do not believe what God's Word teaches. "So then faith cometh
by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." Romans 10:17.
In Acts chapter 2, the guilt of the people was
established. Acts 2:36. They then asked, "What shall we do?"
Why don't religious people ask this same question today? Why do
religious people fail to believe God's answer to the question?"
All of these truths in the book of Acts will judge all men. John
12:48.
"Faith only" for salvation rejects the
things taught in the book of Acts. "Then Peter said unto
them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of
Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the
gift of the Holy Ghost." Acts 2:38. "Save yourselves
..." calls for action on man's part. Verse 41 tells what
actions took place.
They did not attend the church of their choice.
They did not join. The Lord added them to the church. Acts 2:47.
