How much are we willing to give in order to gain
the crown of life? The 2006 Winter Olympic games being conducted
in Turin, Italy, illustrate the quest of the nations of the world
to achieve the highest level of athletic success the gold medal.
After years of total dedication and countless hours of intense
competition, contestants give their greatest efforts and literally
collapse across the finish line.
The apostle Paul said, "Now they do it to
obtain a corruptible (perishable) crown; but we an incorruptible."
1 Corinthians 9:25. Brethren, if we will fight a good fight, finish
our course, and keep the faith if we will endure - the Lord, the
righteous Judge, shall give us a crown of righteousness at the
"finish line." 2 Timothy 4:6-8; James 1:12. Let us press
toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ
