October was a very uplifting, profitable month
for West Virginia School of Preaching. The month was highlighted
by the "Victory" lectures when 28 speakers presented
great lessons from the books of Jonah, Micah, Nahum, and Habakkuk.
Some visitors were heard to say, "It was the best ever."
Mack Lyon, speaker for Search TV program, and David Pharr
of Rock Hill, NC were the keynote speakers. The lessons have been
beautifully bound in a hardback book. The price is $15. It will
make a great present for any Bible student. We shall be happy
to fill your order. Any of our previous lectureship books that
are still in print may be secured for $3 each.
Our average attendance was 274 representing 84
congregations from West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, New York,
Kentucky, Arkansas, Oklahoma, North Carolina, South Carolina,
and Wisconsin.
Just before the lecture program Edward Partain
received his diploma. He and Vanessa, his wife, are now in Henderson,
Tennessee, where he has enrolled in Freed-Hardeman University.
Joey Barrett of Vincent, Ohio, became a student
October 30. Brent Roth of Woodsfield, Ohio, and Jeremy Antill
of Marietta, Ohio, are enrolled for the quarter beginning in January
2007. Brent needs financial assistance on a monthly basis. He
will be most grateful for any help he may receive.
As usual, we plan to take all of the students
to Freed-Hardeman University Lectures in February. We are always
thankful for any financial assistance we receive for this enriching
experience. If you would like to assist, please send your check
to WVSOP for FHU trip. The men are always enriched by the Bible
lessons, strengthened in their faith, and encouraged to keep on
preaching.
There is always a need for monthly financial support
for the students. We are very grateful for the continued support
of our many contributors and hope you will continue that help.
Additionally, please keep us in your prayers.
We welcome your visits. If you can help us contact
men interested in advancing in their knowledge of God's Word and
may want to preach, please send us their names. We shall be happy
to contact them and help them become students, if possible. -PO
