The article entitled, "Peace In The Valley," on page 2, was written by Tom W. Butterfield March 4, 1969, almost 40 years ago. I received it recently and sincerely commend it to all of our readers. We are publishing these words with the prayer that the peace of God that passes all understanding will prevail in the Lord's church everywhere, as we all speak the same thing and are perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. 1 Corinthians 1:10. Brother Butterfield died in 1994, after many years of faithful and effective gospel preaching. He, like Abel of old, being dead, yet speaks, and his work continues. Hebrews 11:4.

The Pennsboro church of Christ is busy planning and preparing to host the 2007 West Virginia Christian lectureship September 9-12. Read their listing of topics and speakers in this issue. I pray you are making plans to attend. Several fine lectureships are coming up in our area. These are excellent opportunities for concentrated study, fellowship, and edification.
