SISTERSVILLE, WV 26175 - Linda and I were overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and appreciation from our brethren at Sistersville on Sunday, December 9th. We were caught totally unawares by a surprise dinner to recognize our twenty-three years with this congregation. About 70 were present, and a beautiful Friendship Quilt was presented to us. Many people were instrumental in organizing the event, but a special thanks goes to Clara Marie Hadley for much of the planning and execution of the dinner, and to Debbie Goff and Ruth Wells for overseeing the completion of the quilt. It is very gratifying to be part of this warm and caring church, and to have enjoyed such a relationship as we have had for so many years. Jerry Toothman, 206 Oxford St. siscofc@stratuswave.net

SMYRNA, TN 37167 Your publication continues to be excellent. I look forward to receiving it each month. Please continue to keep me on the subscription list. All of my friends and fellow Christians are missed since I moved to Tennessee. "New" health problems are hindering my efforts to minister to others. I have been preaching for a very small congregation in Smyrna known as Cedar Grove since February. My latest physical disability may force me to stop preaching. The doctors have diagnosed my leg ailments as caused by various deteriorations in my legs. This past Sunday afternoon my legs suddenly buckled and I fell backward to the concrete. As far as the experts can see, there were not broken bones. As of this evening, however, I am unable to stand up without help. I had a cataract removed from my left eye on November 27. Surgery on the other eye is scheduled on December 11. Please keep me in your prayers. May the Lord bless all your efforts for good in His name, Love in Christ, Jim Mitchell, 817 Neptune Court.
