Two major world tragedies occurred in May, and the numbers of people affected are staggering. A cyclone struck Burma on May 2 and 3, and over 133,000 people are dead or missing. About 2.4 million have been left destitute – without homes, food, or proper care. The nations of the world have been ready to respond with help, but, until today, the government has not accepted it.

On May 12, an earthquake struck China, and 51,151 people are reported dead, along with 29,329 people missing. The Chinese government reports that over 5 million people were made homeless.

We are made to think how quickly these events occurred. They happened so suddenly – with little or no warning – within very short periods. In one hour or day, they were alive and well – in the next, they were dead. “Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.” James 4:14.

Beloved, if we would return and serve the Lord; if we would do good unto all men; if we would teach and preach the gospel to the lost souls of the world, we need to do it today! “…behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” 2 Corinthians 6:2.

We rejoice in every effort that is being made to teach all nations. We commend this issue of the paper to you. Please show it to others and encourage them to subscribe. Pray for us. –Albert.
