LORAIN, OH 44055 - All is going well at the Toledo Road church of Christ. We ended the year with 13 baptisms, four restorations, and five placing membership. We had one death in our church family. Among the activities this past year included a Friday Night Sing, Vacation Bible School, Ladies Inspiration Day, the 10th Annual North Central Ohio Bible Lectureship August 24-27, and a Campaign for Christ November 1-6 with 13 young men from the Memphis School of Preaching helping us knock doors. Bro. Garland Elkins preached each night during the campaign. It was a very successful event. We are in our seventh year of broadcasting a 30-minute radio program over one of our local radio stations. It is very well received by our community. We are looking forward to the New Year, 2009. We have already had one baptism in the month of January. Plans are now underway for the 11th Annual North Central Ohio Bible Lectureship which is scheduled for August 23-26, 2009. The theme this year is: “CAN WE TRUST THE BIBLE?” Bro. James Watkins and Bro. Dan Jenkins are two of the keynote speakers. Other outstanding men from our area will be invited to speak. I am grateful to serve as the pulpit minister for this good church. They treat us well. If ever in the Lorain area, come visit with us. -Bob Eddy, 5075 Toledo Rd.

BARRACKVILLE, WV 26559-0110 – On Sept. 29th Peter Ray Cole, Aaron Snider, and I left for Pittsburgh for the long trip to India. It would be Peter Ray’s 5th trip, Aaron’s 3rd, and my 16th. We returned to the states on Oct. 31st so we were there just a little over a month. As has been true since I began these trips, it proved to be a very successful trip. Between the three of us we spoke 163 times and had at least 750 people obey the saving gospel of Jesus Christ. These were just from the meetings we personally conducted and do not include the results from campaigns and meetings we financed but did not directly participate in. India’s economy is moving forward at a rapid pace and I always wonder if that is going to affect our work, but up to this point, we are still seeing excellent results from the meetings we are able to conduct. Of the 163 times we spoke it would include preacher’s classes, special day-time classes, but primarily what the Indians call “gospel meetings.” I say that because they are not what we would typically call a gospel meeting. These are not meetings that last several days but are simply gatherings where there will be non-Christians present. They range in size from a few to hundreds and are most often held at night. … I try each year to make as many personal reports as is possible. I feel certain that Peter Ray can make a few of these as well. If you would like one of us to come and make a report about this year’s trip please let us know as soon as possible. Again, I am deeply grateful for your support and for the privilege of making these trips and being a part of this mission effort. Please keep the work in your prayers and if possible in your plans for next year. – Steve Snider, PO Box 110. 304-363-5203 (home) 304-363-9060 (office).
