WADSWORTH, OH 44281 – I continue to commute from Wadsworth as Jan and I try to sell our house there. We began our work with the Brookwood Way church April 1st. It is a joy to be with the brethren here again, having served here 3/1/61 to 10/31/66. Attendance is increasing and the spirit of the congregation appears to be growing. Lord willing, we will be moving into our recently purchased house by mid or late June. Friends and former members should please note that the annual Homecoming will be October 11th … Please pray for our efforts to build up the church in this area. –Don Cooper, 225 Knollwood Dr. (Editor’s note: Many of our readers are acquainted with brother Don and his wife, Jan. SISTERSVILLE, WV 26175 – Members of the Sistersville congregation showed their appreciation to the Jeremy Young family, whom we have been supporting for the past nine years in their work with the Buffalo, WV church. Brother Jeremy gave an update on the work at Buffalo during the Bible study hour, and preached at both the morning and evening services. In the afternoon, a potluck in their honor was held, with gifts, cards, and gifts for their two young daughters being presented. It was a successful day that served to encourage the Youngs in their work, and also the Sistersville church. -206 Oxford St.

(Editor note: Our prayers and best wishes are with our brother in his faithful work in southern India. We are thankful to send the paper to him and to others. SEARCY, AR 72143 – I enjoy the West Virginia Christian, all the good articles, and news from up that way. It is hard to believe that we will be down here five years this fall. I have been preaching for a small congregation for three and one-half years. We have had 35 baptisms and 6 restorations. We had about 50 when I started with them and we have been in the 90’s. We just closed a meeting with different speakers and Duane Warden and our Steve were two of the speakers. A lot of good still comes out of meetings. The Gospel is as powerful as ever, nothing wrong with the seed, it just has to be sown. I also work with Floyd Rine in visitation for the Highway congregation. It might have been in the news up there about Floyd and Patty’s granddaughter being shot in Memphis. Their granddaughter was Micah. There were some 2,000 at her funeral at the Harding Academy on Wednesday. Remember the Rine family in your prayers. I have some meetings up that way next year if I am able to do them. I had four bypasses in 2007, and the main artery replaced. I am keeping busy at this time. God is great, and God bless all in that area. –Dan Smith, 268 Fairview Rd.

COOKEVILLE, TN 38506-8666 – Enclosed is $10.00 for 1-year renewal. I appreciate receiving WV Christian. I even learned today what a Timberdoodle is. It was a surprise to find I have seen Timberdoodles on a trip to Maine in 1984 with my deceased bird-watching husband. –Janet Randolph, 4034 Elwin Dr.
