When God made man, He did not give him the ability to direct his own life. Jeremiah said, “O Lord, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.” Jeremiah 10:23. We need guidance. We all follow someone or something. Whom do you follow? “He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool ...”
It is so very sad that millions of the youth of the world follow Rock Stars, Movie Stars, and Sports Stars as their role models and neglect the One, Perfect Leader who can make them whole and complete in their lives on earth and the One Who can give them eternal happiness in heaven! “He that followeth vain persons is void of understanding.” It is so sad that millions of religious adults are following false prophets who teach damnable heresies that will someday bring swift destruction from God.
When our Lord Jesus came into the world, He began to call out to certain ones, “Follow me ...” Later, the call was more general, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest ...” He said, “I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” We follow Him by following His Word. “And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.”
Dear readers, “Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children.” Paul said, “Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.” The challenge of following Jesus Christ is rewarding but demanding. Jesus said, “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.” We encourage you to follow the Lamb of God wheresoever He goes.
