Did I Miss It? …The Lord Came Back?

Rick Tincher

In my travels, I have seen billboards saying, “The Lord is coming on May 21, 2011.” On a Columbus news channel, I also saw one of the men responsible for these signs. He claimed he had used hidden messages of the Bible and calculated this date. He was asked what he will do if he and his group are wrong. His response was, “I cannot answer that because I’m not wrong.” I would like to have “met up” with some of these folks prior to May 21, 2011. I would have asked them for all of their money and belongings since they would not be using them.

Did I miss it? Did the Lord come back without my knowing it? No!

When he comes back, everybody will see it. John recorded these words: “Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, amen.” Revelation 1:7.

When he comes back, this old earth will be destroyed. Look at the words of Peter: “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?” 2 Peter 3:9-12.

No one will be able to predict a time. I will take the Lord’s word on this. He said, “But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.” Matthew 24:36. The fact is, many foolish men have predicted the coming of the Lord. So far, they have all been wrong! Guess what. This latest prediction was wrong. May 21, 2011, is gone.

Dear friends, I do not know the time of the coming of the Lord, and neither do you. But, this I do know. He is coming, and I want to be ready. What about you? “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment …” Hebrews 9:27. -14310 Wooster Rd., Mount Vernon, OH 43050.
