A Very Busy Summer

Denver E. Cooper

Summer break has been quite a busy time. One Sunday each month for five months I have preached at Chillicothe, Ohio, while they were making ready for their new preacher. One was restored and one was baptized during that time. James Rankhorn began work there July 1. I've preached at Bert, Ben's Run (2 baptisms), Hillview Terrace in Moundsville, Bridge Street in New Martinsville, all in West Virginia; Chillicothe and Jerusalem in Ohio.

All of our students have been preaching regularly. Graduates Rodney Nulph and his family are now located with the church at Sandyville, WV. Van Sprague, with his wife Jennifer, moved to work with the church at Rio Grande, Ohio. Aaron Burch is spending his summer at Fairview, WV, with the church, and Jeff Tucker is at Reader, WV. Others are busily engaged at different places.

I shall be preaching at W. Ripley, WV, this Sunday, July 30th.

A highlight for the summer was the WVSOP banquet and graduation. Brother Dick Bartrug gave the informative and entertaining speech at the banquet. He lives at Bunker Hill, WV, and worships at Martinsburg. For the "charge" to the graduates brother Sam Bartrug did a superb job. He labors with the church at McConnellsville, Ohio.

Students will be returning for the 2006 - 2007 school year on August 13th. We are looking forward to another good year. Don't forget that our students need your prayers and financial assistance. We greatly appreciate the generosity of all the individuals and congregations who support our work. We couldn't do it without you. It will be especially encouraging if you can help us recruit a new student from your area. Please keep us in your prayers.

You are always welcome to visit us. You may contact us by phone, (304) 845-8001; WVSOP, P. 0. Box 785, Moundsville, WV, or E-mail dirwvsop@aol.com
