VINTON, OH 45686 "I just read an article in the Christian paper you publish about a preacher, Uncle Henry DeVore. I am 70 years old and as a child from the age of 5 years old attended the Church of Christ at Vinton, OH. We did not have a full-time preacher there. It was a very small congregation. Hartley DeVore was one of the elders and speakers there. I am almost positive that the man in your article was his father. Hartley and his wife had two daughters and one son. My Mother was best friends with Mrs. DeVore and her daughter, Evelyn. If Mother were living she would be 96 years old, the same age of Evelyn DeVore. The church no longer meets there but is now a grange building. Before Hartley and the elders got too old to continue, we all started going to Gallipolis church of Christ. It was in the deed it could never to used as a church unless it was used for the Church of Christ. I love reading your paper. Please put me on your mailing list. I thought you might be interested in hearing this. I donated one of Uncle Henry's books to our church library as also some books that Brother Tice Elkins had written. He was a wonderful friend to our family, also. Thanks for reading this." Sharon Gibson, 558 Mt. Carmel Rd. agsg@aceinter.net
