Moses

John King

“Moses, free my people for I hear their cry.”

“Send someone else, Lord, but surely not I.”

“Up and be gone no more excuses today

For when the time comes you’ll know what to say.”

So, before Pharaoh Moses made his demands

And, with God as his helper, he firmly would stand.

“Who is your God that I must obey?

Just one of many as we like to say.”

“No,” said Moses, “And soon you’ll agree

For after ten plagues, you’ll clearly see.”

Pharaoh was stubborn and it cost him his son

And, he soon realized that God’s will must be done.

So, Moses freed Israel by the Lord’s mighty hand

But it would be 40 years to the sweet Promised Land
