Albert E. Farley

“So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.” These words, from Acts 19:20, describe the consequence of the great work done by the apostle Paul in the city of Ephesus on his third missionary journey.

We are so thankful to God for and are very encouraged by the news of all of the great works being done by so many congregations of the Lord’s church in our nation and in the world! So many Bible studies are being conducted with non-members; so many gospel meetings, lectureships, ladies inspiration days, seminars, etc., are being conducted. So many excellent DVD’s are being produced and circulated. So many excellent radio and television programs are being produced, broadcasted, and televised. So many good church bulletins and other papers are being printed and distributed. Much of this work is being done via the Internet.

The apostle Paul labored mightily in Ephesus for three years, declaring all the counsel of God. He kept back nothing that was profitable to them. He taught publicly and from house to house. Acts 20. The result was the same as it was in Samaria and in Corinth: “… when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.” Acts 8:12. “And … many of the Corinthians hearing believed, and were baptized.” 18:8.

Yet, though much is being done, we are only scratching the surface of what needs to be done! The millions of souls without Christ must spur us to greater works. Let us strengthen our hands in the work of the Lord’s house, the church. Let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works! Ezra 6:22; Heb. 10:24.

Our circulation last month was 2,863 copies. Our goal: 3,000! Let us rise up and build! -Albert.
