Fellowship! “That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son, Jesus Christ.” 1 John 1:3. Fellowship with God and with His Son, Jesus Christ ought to be the highest, most important goal of every person on earth. Fellowship with Satan and with the world will damn our souls eternally.
The word fellowship is translated from a word which means “partnership, participation:” “social intercourse.” Sin (the violation of the will of God) destroys fellowship with God. “But your iniquities (sins) have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.” Isaiah 59:2; 1 John 1:6, 7.
The Bible teaches that all have sinned and lost God’s fellowship. Romans 3:23. As transgressors, we are “…without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world.” Ephesians 2:11-16. The ONLY means by which we can be restored to fellowship with God and with Christ is by our hearing the gospel of Christ preached and by our obedience to that gospel. Mark 16:15, 16; Romans 1:16, 17. In Christ, we must have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but, rather, we are to reprove them! Ephesians 5:1-16.
With great hope in Christ, we present this issue of the paper to you. Please read the articles with readiness of mind and meekness of heart. Search the scriptures to see whether these things are so. Obey from your heart that form of doctrine delivered by Christ and His apostles. Let the Lord add you to His church and His fellowship! Be faithful in service and worship. Receive the crown of Life!
